Ignoring the fact that all the pizzas on this list would now be rotting pieces of mould in reality, there's something about seeing someone eat a slice of margherita on screen that makes us feel all desperate and hungry inside.
We've selected 10 of the most memorable pizzas in film that made us either ravenous, jealous, angry or even scared.
Let us know if we've missed your favourite at the bottom.
Fast Times At Ridgemont High (1982)
Ordering a pizza to be delivered to school is something we only dreamed of in our younger years. The closest we got was secretly eating a canteen-bought pizza slice in class whenever the teacher wasn't looking. So full marks to Spicoli for the bravado displayed in this scene. Sadly, the brave act isn't seen as such by his cruel teacher who punishes Spicoli in an unimaginable way. If this makes you hungry, check out our guide to making this exact pizza at home.

The Net (1995)
Back in 1995, the Internet was new and shiny and, according to The Net, absolutely terrifying. When the thriller, which was dated by the time it reached the small screen, wasn't trying to convince us that the web would steal our entire identity, it was trying to wow us with the jaw-dropping things you could do online. Such as ordering food! From your living room! Sadly, 18 years later, it's still not this easy to order a pizza on your computer.

Do The Right Thing (1989)
A hefty portion of Spike Lee's acclaimed 1989 film took place in Sal's Pizza, owned by Sal (obvs), an Italian-American Brooklynite with a bad attitude. His pizza isn't that much better. In this scene, we see an understandably perturbed customer, played by Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito, receive a substandard slice and then raise hell. We don't blame him.

Back to the Future 2 (1989)
Now, we still have two years left but we're starting to worry that this might not actually become a thing. According to Back to the Future II, the year 2015 was going to bring in a pizza revolution that would change the way we ate at home. A miniature disc would be magically transformed into a full-sized pizza before your very eyes. Perchance to dream...

Wayne's World (1992)
Wayne will not bow to any sponsor, repeat any sponsor, unless of course it's Pepsi or Dorito's or Reebok or Nuprin or, more importantly, Pizza Hut. And neither will we. So Pizza Hut, don't bother sending us any free pizzas for writing this one. Especially not any with pepperoni and double cheese with a side order of garlic bread, okay?

Eat Pray Love (2010)
Okay so while the majority of the film might have been best viewed with the volume down and the screen switched off, this scene of Julia Roberts visiting famous Naples pizzeria L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele was pretty compelling food porn. Seen as one of the best pizzas in the world, it's a cold hard reason to visit Italy as soon as humanly possible, with an empty stomach and an embarrassing amount of saliva.

Home Alone (1990)
If it wasn't for this vital pizza moment in Home Alone, we'd have been watching a film called Holidaying Together instead. All Kevin wanted was a nice cheese pizza, that's all, but his sadistic brother Buzz ensured that this was not to be. This then set the horribly familiar chain of events in motion which led to Kevin's abandonment and then brutal torture of two burglars. All because of a pizza.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
If, as an adult, you've taken a second to really think about the set-up of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles then you've probably started asking yourself "How did any of this not seem weird when I was a kid?" The nightmarish tale of mutant turtles with expert fighting skills was made even stranger by their obsession with pizza. In this bizarre scene, an understandably bemused delivery guy drops off a pizza above ground for a mysterious customer underneath. We expect a multitude of creepy pizza moments in the upcoming remake.

A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988)
Soul pizza anyone? If any of the other examples on this list have made you desperate for a slice of margherita then this one should help offset the cravings. Freddy serves up a typically disgusting take on a pizza, using live heads for meatballs. Consider your hunger gone.

She's All That (1999)
A pizza with pubic hair. That is all.
