Cinema's Best Zoom Shots Supercut

In the holy arsenal of camera techniques available to a Hollywood film director, few can rival the zoom for impact.

Be it Edgar Wright or Sergio Leone, nothing says ‘I know what I’m doing’ quite like a powerful close-up, making the backgrounds blurry and taking audiences right up to an actor’s furrowed (and normally sweaty) brow.

Think of a great scene in cinema and chances are this dizzying effect will not be too far away, as exemplified by this video, produced by Off Beat Studio, compiling some of its very finest moments of zoom shot cinema.

From Tarantino's shot of the Bride's unforgiving stare in Kill Bill, to Spielberg's of Martin Brody realising something bad is in the water in Jaws, prepare to revisit some truly unforgettable moments.

Why it's enough to make Dramatic Beaver look positively amateur.
