The $1m Roger Dubuis Watch

There are a lot of things you could spend $1.1 million (£670,000) on. Hell, at £340k a week, you could almost pay Manchester United's Radamel Falcao for a fortnight. Almost.

However, if you want to own a watch that looks like a million dollars (because, well, it is a million dollars), look no further than the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor.

If, at first glance, it doesn’t seem ostentatious enough to justify the price tag, a quick scan over the image below should set you right. The Excalibur Quatuor is an extremely complex timepiece that shows off why Swiss manufacturer Roger Dubuis’ reputation is founded on the quality of their craftsmanship.

The casing is made from silicon four times harder than steel. Inside, there are 590 separate parts engineered to precision and four sprung balances set at an angle of 45 degrees to offset the wearer’s natural movements and provide extreme accuracy.

All-in-all, the watch takes approximately 2,400 man-hours to build.

For God’s sake, don’t try and change the battery yourself.
