Zoo Worker In Gorilla Suit Shot With Tranquiliser Dart

You know what it’s like: you’re dressed in a gorilla suit and running around a zoo to mimic a gorilla escape for staff members when suddenly you’re hit by a tranquiliser dart.

No? Well spare a thought for the poor soul at Logo Parque zoo in Tenerife, Spain, who suffered this exact fate earlier this week after a veterinarian, unaware of the drill, believed the employee to be a genuine absconding ape and fired a tranquiliser into his leg.

According to The Dodo, he was then taken to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands, where he apparently remains in a serious condition. After all, the dose was meant to take down a 400 pound gorilla.

We wish him all the best in his recovery, and if he ever does decide to change jobs, with a convincing performance such as that, we're sure Andy Serkis will be watching his back.
