You know how if you fold a piece of paper in half 50 times it would reach to the moon? Well, if you lined up every Savile Row-inspired M&S blue linen suit sold last year, it would span nine times the length of Savile Row itself. Not quite as impressive as the paper/moon thing, obviously, but far more likely to be true.
The suit’s popularity explains why the brand has once again called on esteemed tailor Richard James to produce a new collection of blazers.
Crafted from Italian fabric, the blazers come in pink, oatmeal, blue and lilac, with matching trousers optional. All except lilac, that is; but then as any discerning gent knows, it would be better paired with white chinos.
The lightweight material makes it an ideal summer purchase, while at £199 per blazer, it won’t dent the holiday fund. Queues will stretch around the block – nine times at least.
