Disney has dropped a new trailer for a new Spider-Man series, the animated show Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
It’s out next month and follows the adventures of a young Spider-Man, who is just getting to grips with his role as a superhero.
There’s a big twist with this one, though. While Spider-Man is the classic Peter Parker character, it’s an alternate universe take where his mentor is not Tony Stark but Norman Osborn — also known as the Green Goblin.
All of this is hinted at in the trailer, along with Spidey wearing a white/black suit rather than his signature red one.
We also get to see the character in a home-brew costume, before he gets kitted out by Oscorp.
This show was originally announced in November 2021, then dubbed Spider-Man: Freshman Year. It was sold in as a look at the “early comic book roots” of the character.
What we see in this trailer, three years on, is a mix of the old and new.

Some of the colour choices are distinctly retro, but the animation looks more like a cel-shaded video game than the retro styling of recent retro revivals like X-Men ’97.
The school Parker goes to has classic white/black boards, but we’re not looking at a setting so retro the show does not feature social media.
It looks like this is how Spider-Man gains notoriety in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, by streaming his good deeds online.
The show is rumoured to have 10 episodes in its first season, which is due to land on January 29.
Hudson Thames stars as Peter Parker, while the brilliant Colman Domingo plays Norman Osborn.
