Attempting the long journey home after a heavy night of drinking is a cruel and thankless task.
Anyone who's ever braved a night bus can confirm this. But while using your initiative in order to make it easier is understandable, there's a limit and one Swedish woman has well and truly pushed it.
The 50-year-old woman found herself far from home on a drunken night out so decided to call the police and deliver a fake murder confession so she could get a free ride home. She was picked up in Gothenburg and decided to immediately tell police that it was all a lie.
Unsurprisingly, they didn't see the funny side and took her to a local detox centre instead.
She was fined for wasting police resources and is now facing trial for making a false alarm to police.
Tip for the future: cops never see the funny side. Trust us.
