Is there a cityscape more densely populated by neon advertisements and hardwired into futurism than Tokyo? Unlikely, giving you even more reason to appreciate these before-and-after concept shots which show what it would look like without its haze of multi-coloured ads.
 
In short, we get a different city entirely, losing its identity and descending into dull darkness at the pull of a plug. For now, however, Japanese marketing bods can rest easy and continue beaming giant ads over the thousands who trample across that massive zebra crossing in Shibuya.
