Things that just won't die: that wine stain under the rug in the living room, Dracula and Wesley Snipes' career.
Despite serving three years in prison for tax evasion, Snipes is looking to further his cinematic return (after the muscle-heavy, praise-light Expendables 3) with a little help from the Marvel stable.
Taking to the cosplayed halls of San Diego's recent Comic-Con to talk up his role in TV drama The Player, Snipes was asked the inevitable question of whether we'll see him returning as everyone's favourite vampire hunter (well, second favourite if you're a Buffy fan), Blade.
Deadline asked Snipes when we'll see the actor take part in the Marvel Universe at any point, with the actor offering this vague reply:
"That’s a possibility too. I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and it'd be nice to be a part of the family again. But if we don’t to a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful... [Blade 4] is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air."
It's not the first we've heard from Snipes on the subject: he shared his interest in a new Blade project and a different Marvel character when we spoke to him on the junket trailer for Expendables 3 back in August 2014.
Here's hoping we get some more vampire slaying in the next phase of the Marvel empire.
