It's been the TV hit of the year in the UK, and now it's getting an American remake.
The drama, which garnered critical acclaim for its story and the performances of David Tennant and Olivia Coleman, is going to be adapted by Fox. Production will begin in January next year and the show will go out during 2014 and 2015.
Series creator Chris Chibnall will write the opener, and executive produce the rest alongside Carolyn Berstein (The Bridge) and Jane Featherstone (The Hour). No new US location has yet been set, but the story is likely to be broadly (oh yes) similar: a mysterious death in an idyllic town and the gradual exploration and conclusion amid national media interest.
Will it work? Will they remake Midsomer Murders while they're at it? We wait with interest.
