This art installation is an actual “sh*t show”

If you think modern art is shit, just wait until you see this.

Italian artist Luca Cipelletti has covered the walls of a gallery with bovine manure.

The "Shit Show" exhibition at POMO in Milan is a collaboration with the brand new Museo della Merda - yes, that translates as "The Shit Museum" - in Piacenza. What a place that must be. Surely the leaflets bear the byline: "A guaranteed shit day out for all the family!"

As well as covering the walls with fertilizer - demethanised, so as not to make you ill - Cipelletti's exhibit also includes bricks made from dried out cow pats.

But WHY? Dezeen relays a statement from the gallery, "[Shit Show] is a project which undermines cultural norms and preconceptions, and is dedicated to the transformation of a natural substance usually considered objectionable waste into something new, and to encourage dialogue on sustainability and the restoration of a healthy relationship between man and nature."

The exhibition is open at POMO until tomorrow (8 May). Each visitor will receive a free brick. And a wet wipe, we hope.

Of course, you don't have to go all the way to Italy to be in a room full of turds. Just go to the UKIP party conference.
