The world's steepest street makes for incredible optical illusions

No, that house isn't sinking into the ground. Some clever Instagrammers have simply been flocking to the world's steepest residential road, Baldwin Street in New Zealand, to make it look that way. 

By taking pictures of the street from pavement-level, the Instagrammers have made it look like a strange post-apocalyptic world of sinking houses.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the slope of Baldwin Street is about 1:2.86 and every year athletes compete to run up it in an event called the 'Baldwin Street Gutbuster'.
