Who? Pink Milk
What’s the story? You have to respect a band that commits, totally and utterly, to a sound. You also have to respect a band that covers Foreigner's epic power ballad I Want To Know What Love Is. Fortunately, Gothenburg duo Pink Milk - singer and drummer Maria and guitarist Edward - have done both of these things, so they are thoroughly worthy of your attention. Detroit is the band's debut single and it opens with quite simply the most reverb-heavy, shoegazy drum sound we've ever heard. If this wasn't recorded in an aircraft hangar then we'll be amazed. It's suitably huge and dreamy but underneath the dense fog is a quality song. We don't know much about them and the track is done and dusted in under three minutes, but we'll be keeping an eye on them from now on.
For fans of: Ride, The Jesus and Mary Chain
In three words: Heavy reverb shoegaze
