Who? Martin Solveig, feat Tkay Maidza
What’s the story? Frenchman Martin Solveig has always been smarter than your average dance producer, managing to gain a worldwide audience while still maintaining a slightly quirky stream. This was never better demonstrated on his giant 2010 hit Hello, when he teamed up with Dragonette to stunning effect - a track which landed him a gig producing several tracks on Madonna's 2012 record MDMA. Now, he's released the video for Do It Right, which features Zimbabwe-born Australian singer Tkay Maidza. There's plenty of familiar EDM tricks in there, but it's pleasingly wonky with a great cowbell-heavy chorus, and - as always with Solveig - features a brilliantly weird video that looks like it's been filmed on some sort of Mediterranean Portmeirion. This is a lot of fun.
For fans of: Calvin Harris, Bassment Jaxx
In three words: Quirky dance anthem
