Who? Katy B/Chris Lorenzo
What’s the story? Despite scoring a number of hit singles, we still get the feeling that Katy B is a little underrated. Perhaps it's because what she does - soulful, simple vocals which never indulge in needless acrobatics - sounds so easy that we take it for granted. But while the likes of Jess Glynne have gone huge, Katy has preferred to stay a little cooler, and a little more underground, demonstrated by her forthcoming album Honey, which sees her collaborate with a host of artists - some established, but many up-and-coming. I Wanna Be is the fourth track to be revealed from the record (released 29 April) and possibly the best so far: a gorgeous deep house backing from Chris Lorenzo and Katy's smoky vocals over the top. The accompanying video hints at the best place to hear this song: late at night in a club, or huddled up on the back of a night bus, looking out at the world and dreaming to yourself.
