Who? Flawes
What’s the story? New London trio Flawes were responsible for one of our favourite tracks of the year in the form of Don't Wait For Me, which was followed up the equally excellent You Are All I See, showcasing their mix of deep bass, smooth beats, piano and guitar flourishes on top and the almost Sting-like vocals of frontman Josh Carruthers. Now they give us a Christmas treat in the form of this cover of Coldplay's 2012 festive effort Christmas Lights. Carruthers' vocals once again work perfectly with the material and when those warm synths come in at 50 seconds, you can practically feel the log fire burning. If the tune itself isn't enough, it's part of breast cancer charity CoppaFeel!'s It'sComingOnChristmas festive compilation alongside previous ShortListen pick Pesky!'s excellent track and more from Flyte, Sivu, Max Jury and Keaton Henson - head here to buy the record and make a difference.
