Who? EKKOES
What’s the story? Tears For Fears have suddenly found themselves in fashion recently, with acts from Lorde - who did a very strange cover of Everybody Wants To Rule The World - and even Biffy Clyro citing them as an inspiration. London trio EKKOES, who will release their debut album Elekktricity next Friday (13 May) have also clearly been taking notes from the eighties legends, with their third single It Goes On displaying the ambitious sound that Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith perfected in their heyday. A melancholy verse gives way to an sweeping chorus, before the whole thing shifts up a gear for a truly epic Sigur Rós-esque outro, with apocalyptic lyrics ringing out. Accompanied by a beautiful video, this is (literally) a widescreen release.
For fans of: Tears For Fears, Sigur Rós, Chvrches
In three words: Sweeping electro ballad
