The return of ShortList MODE

New issue of our fashion bible hits the streets next week

The return of ShortList MODE

It’s the news we hope you’ve been waiting for: ShortList MODE is returning. On 20 March, to be precise. However, if the words ShortList and MODE placed in such close proximity mean very little to you, let us explain. It’s the name of our biannual glossy fashion magazine, which launched this time last year with UK model David Gandy on the cover.

This time, the cover star is rising actor Sam Claflin (pictured) who appeared in BBC’s Munich air disaster drama United as Duncan Edwards and is currently starring in new BBC Two drama, White Heat. He features in a five-page matinee idol-themed photoshoot, but that’s just a taster of the issue’s bigger picture: tribes. Or more specifically (and helpfully) society’s iconic fashion groups. Think mods, punks and rockabillies.

Elsewhere in the issue we interview Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana (better known by their company name — Dolce & Gabbana) about their incredible careers, model-turned-actor Jamie Dornan picks his favourite pieces for spring/summer, and we reveal our 50 essential items for the season.

And (as a thank you for reading this far) we’ll let slip a couple of teasers so you’re ahead of the game. Namely Panama hats and unstructured lightweight blazers. Don’t tell anyone, just quietly move in the direction of the shops and take your pick before the rush starts. You have until next Tuesday.

Marc Chacksfield
Content Director

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
