Celebrating a 75th birthday is usually a modest affair. It probably involves dinner before 6, a gift of Old Spice (bought by someone unaware of the new ironic advertising) and a number of bitter asides about how no one comes to visit these days.
For the BMW 328 though, things are a little different.
To celebrate three quarters of a century, BMW are introducing the BMW 328 Hommage. It was designed using modern technology yet stays true to the original's vintage style. For example, it includes two customised iPhones which offer up information on time and GPS positioning.
The car only weighs 789kg as most of the exterior and interior is made from a carbon fiber plastic combination. It's designed wide and low with no doors and is conveniently unsuitable for children.
Sadly this story has a tragic ending. The car was only made as a tribute and won't be put into production so you can buy one never. Sorry for those raised hopes.
