It's official, mums are more powerful than fanboys.
The appeal of watching Jamie Dornan tie up a woman beat out the first look at the new Star Wars movie to make Fifty Shades of Grey the most watched trailer of the year with an astonishing 93 million views. The first glimpse of the S&M blockbuster was at the top of the list, released by Zefr, a YouTube marketing and data company.
The much-anticipated trailer for JJ Abrams' reboot of the Star Wars franchise managed a respectable 81 million views. It's worth noting that it's had four months less time online, which might affect the numbers considerably.
Other notable entrants include first looks at other franchise pics, such as Jurassic World and Despicable Me spin-off Minions. Further down the list, who would have guessed that box office disappointments Dracula Untold and Sex Tape would be so popular in trailer format?
