The Most Stylish Own Goal Ever

If there was any justice, this piece of magic would have taken place on a fitting stage: the Nou Camp; Old Trafford; the Maracana perhaps.

But, as it was, Arbroath's Gayfield Park ground turned out to be the hallowed turf which witnessed the scoring of the most stylish own goal ever.

Young defender Ben Richards-Everton, playing in the SPFL development league for Partick Thistle against Dundee United, was covering a long ball played over his shoulder before choosing to gently chip the ball safely back to his goalkeeper. However, one deft outside of the boot flick, a little too much power and a nice gust of wind later, and it was nestling in his own net.

Thankfully, it didn't cost his side too dearly, as they went on to win 2-1. He really should consider 'doing a Paul Warhurst' and getting up the other end of the pitch: he's clearly a natural.
