New gadget fixes fatigue behind the wheel

The long journey must-have

We've all had that inescapably awful feeling when it gets late and we still have a mammoth journey ahead of us.

Trying to keep your eyes awake and remain alert can be a nightmare, usually not helped by a sleeping girlfriend/lack of anything worth listening to on the radio. But, those hard-working gadget elves have been working hard at a solution.

The Anti Sleep Pilot is a nifty new invention which works at keeping you on top of your tiredness. It calculates how tired you are by asking questions pre-journey and using various sensors. It then challenges you with simple touch tests to help you stay awake and informs you of when you should be taking a break.

The smart little helper also manages to turn itself on and off, dependent on when the car is moving.

It's currently proving popular in Denmark and should be within our reach very soon. If you're a fan of slightly serious tests, you can find out your personal risk here.
