Have you ever had something that you love so much that you couldn't perceive of being friends with someone who didn't share that very same opinion? Well, not meaning to sound dramatic or anything, but here's one of ours.

A newcomer to the list (that already includes The Wire, Alan Partridge and laughing at skateboarders who fall over), this beyond genius video showcases the work of Dutch game designer Lieven van Velthoven.

He's found a way to turn his living room into a flexible, easily interchangeable race track with the help of a PC, a modified camera, a projector and whatever he can find to use for the track itself.

The virtual cars are able to detect objects in real-time so as soon as you throw a banana in the way, it will be unable to move past it. There can also be four cars used at once and the checkpoint can be redefined as and when.

Set to drive cats absolutely crazy, it's currently a one-off and will be at the Mediamatic Arcade Exhibition in Amsterdam until the end of April.
