The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Recreated in GTA V

Will the opening sequence of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ever be bettered? Unlikely – the heady mixture of Will Smith’s consecrated jingle, unrealistic fight scenes and eye-gougingly bright '90s attire would be hard to match nowadays.

Unless, that is, you’re GTA modifier Merfish, that is. The mashup king has used his editing skills to recreate those same credits, throwing Franklin Clinton into Will Smith’s shoes and using the sandbox world of Los Santos to give his famous rap (the elongated version) a jazzing up - without Jeff it has to be said.

You might have forgotten that the game’s fake city is actually based wholly on Los Angeles, spanning rich neighbourhoods and ghettos alike, making The Fresh Prince Of Rockford Hills, alluding to the gated community in the game, the perfect fictional place to recreate this consecrated TV intro. It’s spot-on in its accuracy too.

Or at least until our hero gets to the house, puts a bullet into the cab driver ('Smell ‘ya later' indeed) and proceeds to fire a rocket launcher into his family's mansion.

Uncle Phil will surely ground him for that.
