Ask any shop worker and they'll tell you: we are crying out for some new Christmas songs.
As amazing as I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day, Last Christmas and Merry Xmas Everybody are - we've heard them all literally a million times.
But The Darkness are back with a track which could be a worthy addition to the Crimbo cannon. They've already gifted the world the amazing Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) - which lost out to Gary Jules and Michael Andrews cover of Mad World in the 2003 race for Christmas number one (and we're still annoyed about it) - but this is another brilliant effort.
There's a lo-fi eighties VHS-style video, a guitar covered in wrapping paper, lyrics about reindeer, Santa and Ferrero Rocher - what more could you ask for? It also sounds a bit like St. Elmo's Fire - and obviously that's brilliant.
Bring some Darkness to your Christmas this year and stick this on the stereo.
