Eighteen years, 28 series and umpteen fuming celebrities since it first hit the airwaves, Never Mind the Buzzcocks is no more, with the BBC pulling the plug on the comedy panel show indefinitely.
We’d argue the show has been running for so long that many of the original guests might have made great candidates for Identity Parade rounds themselves in recent years. Before we get all nostalgic about it though, here are our personal favourite moments from the show.
When Amy Winehouse said she’d rather have "cat AIDS"
It probably won’t make the upcoming documentary, but it was a great moment from the late singer nonetheless.
Mark Lamarr murdering House of the Rising Sun
Singing was never Lamarr’s strong point, making this butchering of The Animals’ classic even more watchable.
Huey Morgan smashing a mug
Not a fun loving criminal. Just a criminal.
Simon Amstell casting aspersions on Courtney Love and a ‘murder/suicide’
Something smells like teen spirit fishy.
Tom Jones being served
And in a legal sense too.

Preston walking out
It speaks volumes for the show that a Celebrity Big Brother winner and former frontman of a rock band wearing a ridiculously glittery cardigan will be best remembered for flouncing off in a strop.
All of Frankie Boyle
“As a member of Destiny’s Child, she’s one of the most famous and beautiful woman in the world’s friend. Please welcome Michelle Williams.”
Dappy 'offending' Phil Jupitus and promptly shutting the show down
Oh Dappy, you scoundrel! Leave it to Charlie Brooker to keep it together.
As a Staff Writer at Shortlist, Holly dabbles in a bit of everything. Having started her career as a news reporter, she has since decided to return to the world of the living.
