Marco Polo
If you’ve already seen the hard-hitting first trailer for Netflix’s latest exclusive series, then you’ll know we’re talking about the latter.
Well here it is, promising conspiracy and action galore as the legendary explorer, played by Lorenzo Richelmy, goes from the narrow streets of Venice to the cut-throat Asian markets to the battlefields of China in Intrigue in a 13th century ruled by Kublai Khan.
Mixing real world history, drama, glossy action, fantasy, and what sounds like a Trent Reznor-like score, all signs point to this being a winner when it airs on 12 December, from which point we'll get to see our hero taking on all sorts of evil doers.
Expect your journey to the sofa to be slightly less perilous than poor Marco’s.
Marco Polo airs on Netflix from 12 December
