You’ll never watch The Wire the same way again…
For five seasons of David Simon’s gritty HBO masterpiece, viewers were immersed into worlds of low-level drug pushers, lavish crime kingpins, boozy detectives, senior political figures, hard-at-it journalists and even school teachers, with show never letting up with realistic terminology for each layer of the city's subcultures.
But now it appears they all shared a mutual appreciation of tautology (essentially sentences which use repetition to validate an argument or prove a point) so that phrases such such as "Fair’s fair", "the game is the game", and "the street is the street" echo constantly. Oh, and as always, "Omar is Omar".
