Elvis Presley's Gibson J-200. Frank Sinatra's felt fedora. Che Guevara's Norton motorcycle. Each a veritable holy grail of manly cool.
And now you've got the chance to own the icon's icon: McQueen's very own 967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4.
The Italian classic can already command an auction bidding war that wades into the millions, but when the king of cool's Chianti Red 275 GTB/4 rolls onto RM Auctions' block at its annual Monterey event, it's expected to set a new record - to the tune of $9 million.
McQueen ordered the then golden Ferrari while filming The Thomas Crown Affair in 1967. He had it resprayed, and refitted with some Borrani wire wheels from a Ferrari he had recently crashed. Having been well maintained, the car's unique history is expect to set a new record for 275 GTB auctions.
With the car set to head to auction on 15 August, we're off to raid the back of the sofa.
