When was the last time you asked someone out on a date?
Well done you. We're sure you charmed the figurative pants off them. Via Tinder though, yes? Or Twitter? When was the last time you asked someone out in real life - face-to-face, after a chance encounter?
Offline Dating is a short film by Bafta-nominated film-maker Samuel Abrahams that attempts to highlight the gulf of differences that exist between courtship on a digital platform and the more 'traditional' route of asking someone out - or rather, a parody of just how bizarre it would be to ask someone out in the flesh...
Part social experiment, part documentary, Offline Dating follows (recently single) actor Tom Greaves' attempts to get a date from boldly (creepily?) approaching women in public locations. Shot over two and a half weeks, Greaves meets with varying levels of success, learning something of the pitfalls of asking out total strangers in person.
