Scots deep fry butter

It’s all fun and games until someone has a massive coronary.

Scots deep fry butter

If it doesn’t move (and sometimes if it does), there are certain Scots who will deep fry it. So keep yourself animated in the chippy queue.

Pizzas, kebabs, Mars bars – they all been battered and plunged into hot oil in the name of obesity, but things have just gone a step too far, thanks to ‘chefs’ at The Fiddler’s Elbow bar in Edinburgh.

Called Braveheart Butter Bombs, these bad bastards are balls of frozen butter deep fried to perfection in an Irn Bru batter, and served with Irn Bru ice cream.

By way of justification of this potentially deadly dessert, head chef Simon Robertson said: “Some folk are saying it's a heart attack on a plate and, okay, it's not exactly health food but as long as you're not having it every day it shouldn't be any problem.”

We’ll agree to disagree on that point.
