Russia Is Tweeting Jokes About The Conflict in Syria

While we are all for satirical commentary on political ongoings, someone needs to arrange a meeting between the Russian embassy’s social media manager and HR stat.

On Sunday, as Russia continued airstrikes across Syria in support for Assad’s government, the Russian embassy in the United Arab Emirates tweeted out a cartoon mocking the US arming of rebel forces and highlighting Russia’s military successes. Which comes just weeks after Russia's London embassy trolled David Cameron over #piggate.

For Russia's latest attempt at banter, the picture showed a cutout gun and asked the reader to ‘arm the right Syrian rebel group’, some of whom are no longer fighting.

Meanwhile, the Russian ministry of defence has been posting pictures of weapons they are using against ISIS.

Talk about government transparency.
