Gamers like to watch porn?
We know. As news announcements go it’s about as revealing as ‘teenage girls don’t mind One Direction’ and 'Howard Webb quite likes Manchester United'.
And yet, a new report may have just highlighted the link between gamers and porn viewers more than ever before, revealing that the recent release of Fallout 4 coincided with a serious lull in the amount of porn being watching online.
A whopping 10 per cent, according to smut giant Pornhub.
Speaking to Gamesbeat, its VP Corey price said traffic for the world’s biggest porn website said the drop was hardly a coincidence as the game hit shelves, saying:
“Based on the data, it looks like a huge surge of people decided to indulge in some wasteland wandering by taking the day off of work and school to play, while the rest of the world had to wade through what we assume were the longest hours of work ever in anticipation of some alone time with their consoles.”
According to the report, traffic began to dwindle at 5am when most people finished downloading the game, keeping at a fairly low number until 3pm. Later on, around 6pm, the traffic dropped off again before it picked back up at 11pm – presumably when the novelty of blasting mutants to bits started to wear off.
Let’s just hope there’s no weird crossover. Internet folk internet have enough weird fetishes as it is.
