Over at ShortList we like to think we know a thing or two about film (see, we called it ‘film’). And when we launched the scriptwriting challenge we thought, rather smugly, it would be a simple task of selecting the best loglines. Except we got loads of them. Hundreds. So many in fact, that we haven’t yet picked our shortlist (no, the irony isn’t lost on us).
However, for those of you budding writers who entered you’ll be pleased to know we’ve enlisted the expertise of screenwriter Phil O’Shea (philoshea.com) for a live web chat.
Phil is answering questions on what it takes to write a great script. Not only is he a working writer, he’s also a script consultant, director, screenwriting lecturer, and producer. So, he really is the man in the know.
We hope to get through as many questions as possible, but please accept our apologies if your question doesn't get answered this time...

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
