Firstly, if you haven’t seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi yet, don’t fret, because there won’t be any spoilers in this article. The reason for this is that I haven’t seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi yet, either. Panic over.
However, many people have seen it, and along with those who liked it, there were a great many people who didn’t. And of that group, a few petty, nit-picking babies decided to set-up or sign a petition to have it officially removed from canon. This is obviously a stupid idea because it is canon, and official, and loads of people really enjoyed it - just deal with it.
Saying that, there is one Star Wars-related petition that popped up recently, that ShortList.com is fully behind. It is the very important one that’s campaigning to have the entire film reshot, replacing Luke Skywalker with a dog that solves mysteries, called Rex Ruff.
Although I haven’t seen the existing film yet, I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that it would be improved with the addition of a mystery-solving dog. This is the case for all films, I think - even films that already contain mystery-solving dogs.
People agree, too - at time of writing the petition has over 1,100 signatures. Extremely valid reasons for signing include:
“This will make TLJ more like the originals, but not too more like the originals.”
“It’s important to me that the force that pervades the universe is also the smell of dog treats that inspires a dog detective to find out who’s a bad boy.”

“I didn’t fight in three wars and die in two of them just to see a bunch of non-dogs failing to solve mysteries.”
So what are you waiting for? Sign the petition here, and usher in a new canine-led Star Wars franchise - we can solve these problems if we work together.
