Noel Gallagher: One Direction can f*** off

While it still seems that every girl under the age of 16 is still dangerously hypnotised by the antics of X Factor-created boy band One Direction, they've not gone down so well with some of their musical peers.

After Jake Bugg recently told us he thought they were "terrible", Noel Gallagher has now shared his distaste for the hugely popular quintet.

In fact, at the Brits he was sitting with his old Blur rival Damon Albarn and the two made sure the youngsters were well and truly aware of their feelings.

"We both got f*cking roaring drunk and told One Direction to f*ck off in unison, which was funny" Gallagher tells us in this week's magazine.

He also showed dismay at their award-winning success.

"Prancing up and down singing a Blondie song and getting an award for it," he sighed. "Nice lads though they might be, f*ck off. Which is exactly what we told them. It’s turning into the grand finale of The X Factor, which is exactly what Simon Cowell wants.

Gallagher also had a few choice words for some other pop stars.

"Paloma Faith? Do me a favour," he balked. "Who’s f*cking decided she’s a star? Emeli Sande? That is f*cking music for grannies. I don’t get it."
