What do you buy the man who has everything? A limited edition Nixon surfing watch designed by the Beastie Boys' Mike D wouldn't be a bad start - with the notable caveat that even this rarity isn't for sale.
Designed as a part of Mike D's guest editorial at Australian publication Monster Children #43, this timepiece wields the unlikely title of the Nixon x MD x MC Supertide.
A self-professed avid surfer, Mike D's Nixon of choice is packed with pre-programmed tide information for over 270 beaches - accurate until 2023. In addition to standard digital watch features of alarm and light, the Supertide can provide 48 hour tide forecasts and includes a heat timer for surfing competitions (we've no idea how long they last, so we could do with one).
Working with photographer Joe Termini, Mike D has adorned the watch with an image of his hometown New York skyline. This unique timepiece is limited to just 50 items, available through asking either Termini or Mike D nicely, or entering the giveaway contest on Nixon's site.
