What’s funnier than a good old despot, eh?
Y’know, a good ol’ fashioned murderous tyrant who terrorises his own people for decades? Nothing, that’s what, because they’re hilarious.
Well, they’re not, obviously, but that hasn’t stopped South African chicken peddlers Nando's getting a bit carried away and featuring some of the world’s most prolific dictators in their new, rather dubious-in-terms-of-good-taste advert.
The colossally ill-advised clip, called Last Dictator Standing, shows flashbacks of Robert Mugabe and Col. Gaddafi having a water pistol fight, and the Zimbawean president and Saddam Hussein making sand angels in the desert.
Mugabe is then pictured all lonely on his own at the end, with no one to enjoy his spicy peri-peri chicken with.
What’s wrong with having a man in a chicken suit, we do not know.
