The game is afoot.
Having been teased, goaded and wound up by snippets and short trailers, the BBC has finally lifted the veil on Sherlock's Victorian adventure. For all of 85 seconds, but it's more than enough to get your sleuth juices flowing.
Set in the 19th century of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original detective series, the special episode sees Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) engage in an "impossible" case - one filled with murder, fog and the expected levels of snappy dialogue between Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman's Dr John Watson.
And it'll arrive... soon. The BBC is staying decidedly mysterious over the final air date, but expect it arrive at the sharp end of Christmas/New Year.
Drink it in. We're off to grow some sideburns and find a nice pipe.
