Our glossy biannual style bible ShortList MODE is back
Sleazy motels, original Fifties Cadillacs, men with slicked-back hair and leopard-print blazers striding through the Californian desert at dawn: at first glance, you’d be forgiven for mistaking the new issue of our biannual style magazine ShortList MODE for stills from a new David Lynch film.
You see, the theme of MODE’s latest edition – which hits the streets, for free, on 24 and 25 March – is the dark heart of the US: the scuzzy, seedy, but always immaculately attired underbelly of American culture. You’ll find an exclusive interview with Donatella Versace, a spectacular story on ‘night surfing’ – for which our fashion team shot San Diego surfers battling total darkness, massive waves and the constant threat of shark attacks – and a hugely entertaining chat with dapper US actor Logan Lerman (Noah, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower) which includes the quote: “Shia LaBeouf was f*cking dedicated: the guy smelt like sh*t.”
Seriously, don’t miss it.
