Next time you complain that your feet are killing you...well, it could be worse.
52-year-old Beijing factory owner Zhang Fuxing wears iron shoes, each weighing over 440 pounds (200 Kg), and has walked around 15 metres every day for the past seven years. He claims that they have cured his back pain, and credits the Chinese martial art of qigong for enabling him to use them.
"It's not strong muscles that make you able to walk like this, the power comes from internal organs. When you walk with your heart it will work", he says.
While we're sceptical (we tried with all our heart to be good at football, and we're still useless), the fact remains that other people cannot even pick up the shoes, let alone walk in them.
He plans to add another 100 pounds next year (presumably to guard them further against wear and tear), and has been selling smaller versions of the shoes to others.
If he asks us to walk a mile in his shoes, we'll politely decline.
