When a rapper-stroke-producer tries their hand at trainer design, it's a career change we can understand: urban music influencing urban fashion.
Likewise, when that opens a route into becoming a fashion visionary, we can join the dots.
But video game designer? That's a leap we weren't expecting.
During an interview with The Breakfast Club of New York's Power 105.1 radio station, the infinitely-faceted Kanye West revealed that he's creating a video game based around his 2014 single Only One - which depicts a conversation between his daughter and his deceased mother, Dora West.
"Right now I'm working on a video game for Only One", West told the Breakfast Club hosts (you can skip to the 56th minute of the video below - though watch the full hour for details on upcoming material and his desires to work with Disney). "The idea is that it's my mother going through the gates of heaven and you have to bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light. We've been working on it for like six months."
One wonders how you'll be guiding Dora toward the light of heaven and its highest gates - in the style of an infinite runner akin to Temple Run or in the tap-to-dodge vein of Flappy Bird - with further details on the game still a total mystery. Expect it to be released with a typical Yeezy-levels of fanfare in the coming year.
