Warner Bros is investing heavily in the Lego business. After the mega success of The Lego Movie last year - still not happy about it being robbed of an Oscar nomination - it set dates for The Lego Movie 2, Lego Ninjago and The Lego Batman Movie.
The studio has now added to that list with The Billion Brick Race, a spin-off movie to be co-written and co-directed by Jason Segel (writer/star of The Muppets) and Drew Pearce (writer of Iron Man 3 and Mission: Impossible Rogue State).
There are currently no details on exactly what The Billion Brick Race will entail - although lots of bricks are presumably a given - or even whether it will be animated or live-action, but the film, which is based on an idea pitched by Pearce, will mark the directing debut of both Pearce and Segel. The creative genius team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller will produce the film, along with other Lego Movie producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee.
Is there such a thing as too many Lego films? No. The answer is no.
