With yet another Sherlock Holmes TV show airing later this year, it appears as if other networks are also choosing to take inspiration from classic literature.
US network ABC have just announced a new show called Finn & Sawyer. As you can probably guess from the title, the new show will focus on Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. In the proposed drama, Mark Twain's classic characters will meet again in their 20s in an "adventure-themed reinvention" where they "form an investigative firm in a bustling and steampunk New Orleans."
It comes from Jason Richman and David Zabel, who are known for a wide variety of projects. Richman penned scrrenplays for the Anthony Hopkins action film Bad Company and the Nicolas Cage thriller Bangkok Dangerous while Zabel has worked on ER.
The pair have been given a script order which means that the show is officially in development.
What do you think? Sounds like it could work?
