Christopher Nolan’s new blockbuster, Interstellar, features some pretty spectacular timepieces

Hamilton watches have featured in over 400 films – an eye-wateringly impressive CV as far as any brand’s concerned. Throughout the years Hamilton has created a tradition of integrating its signature styles with epic storylines – from Men in Black, I Am Legend and Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, to the forthcoming blockbuster from Christopher Nolan, Interstellar.

Matthew McConaughey’s character, Cooper, wears a Hamilton Khaki Pilot Day Date in the film in which he’s rocketed out of our galaxy to find out where humankind can move to when Earth crumbles and dies. Part of the aviator-style collection, this watch smacks of early American pilot gear with its large dial and stainless steel strap (RRP £660-720). Meanwhile, Cooper’s daughter Murph (Jessica Chastain) wears a totally unique customised piece.

The brand’s continued involvement with Hollywood has led to the annual Hamilton ‘Behind the Camera Awards’, held each year in LA and Shanghai, paying tribute to off-screen talent.
