Remember when zombies were slow? When the undead hordes just shuffled along obligingly, presenting the same menacing threat as a hungry cloud? As the new trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare shows, those days are long gone.
Following in the grizzly tradition set down by previous COD titles, a new survival mode will be coming to the series' latest high tech instalment. Armed with exoskeleton suits, drones and futuristic weapons, you'd think that the grave-dodgers wouldn't stand a chance, right? Wrong.
Titled Exo Zombies, the new survival co-op game mode will pit you and a friend against zombie masses armed with the same super-suit as you. So they can sprint, take damage and, as one poor chap in the trailer discovers, jump. The undead will rise with the Havoc DLC pack or as part of the game's season pass, due this January.
Good luck.
