Stop us if you've seen this before.
Back in 1956, US sci-fi magazine Fantastic Universe ran a short story by an immensely promising author by the name of Philip K Dick. Despite its brief length, The Minority Report was packed with drama and mind-warping futurism. So accomplished was the narrative that, some five decades later, Stephen Spielberg adapted it into one of his most striking science fiction films.
And now, thanks to FOX, the precogs are back.
Set some ten years after the events of Spielberg's adaptation (the series is said to take more cues from the film than the novel), the Minority Report series takes place in a world that has given up on the Precrime law prediction project. Dash, one of the original precog subjects, is struggling to adjust to normal life - haunted by images of future events he's powerless to prevent. Forming a sponsored_longform with Police Detective Lara Vega, Dash sets about using his abilities to help prevent crimes before they happen.
Scheduled to arrive on FOX this autumn, you can get a taste of the precog action in the new trailer below.
