Feral Alcoholic Fighting Pig Meets His End

Tragic news reaches us here at ShortList: the feral Australian pig who found fame after a drunken rampage on a campsite has died.

'Swino', as he was nicknamed by the local authorities in northern Pilbara, in Western Australia, was hit by a passing vehicle on a remote stretch of road, with fatal consequences.

The plucky pig hit the news when he stole, and then drank, 18 pints of lager on a campsite in Port Hedland, before stealing food and starting a fight with a cow.

The pig was apparently identified by distinctive marking on the back of his ears. No foul play was suspected.

Swino: he lived fast and died young, and never missed a chance to hog the headlines.
