Crime fiction's self-proclaimed 'demon dog' is back.
James Ellroy, one of the world's greatest crime writers, returns with his new book Perfidia and we're delighted to be able to exclusively reveal the cover design.
The book is the first part of what will become his second 'L.A. Quartet' and is an epic novel, set in L.A. over 24 days, beginning on 6 December 1941, with America reeling in the wake of the Pearl Harbor bombings. This is set to be James Ellroy's largest, most historically dense and factually detailed novel yet, taking in crime, war and romance, featuring a host of returning characters from previous works, including arch villain Dudley Smith, anti-hero of The Big Nowhere, White Jazz and L.A. Confidential.
Check out the cover below and watch the video, created by Print Club London and filmmaker Tali Clarke, which documents the creation of screen prints showcasing the cover design in their Dalston studios.

He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
