A new Beatles release is always cause for celebration, with this one more than most.
In 1994, Live at the BBC was unleashed; a double album featuring a whole series of never-before-heard recordings and between-song chats made for the BBC which captured the band honing their sound and vision whilst entertaining the nation via the Corporation's airwaves. It sold 5 million copies worldwide and garnered huge critical acclaim everywhere, particularly for the insight it gave into the band's characters via the unscripted, light-hearted chats between takes.
Now, nearly 20 years on, a second volume is being released, featuring 37 previously unreleased music tracks, and 23 newly available spoken tracks - including 10 songs that were never recorded for EMI. On Air - Live at the BBC Volume Two includes recordings of five number ones, plus a raft of rock 'n' roll and rhythm and blues covers performed by the fab four.
To celebrate this release, we're delighted to share two exclusive never-before-seen images of the group below - both capture them in their youthful era, together with their distinctive style, copied the nation over.
In fact, we're off now to get a moptop haircut, some round-framed glasses and a left-handed bass. We'll be huge, just watch.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
